The Grand Rivers Community Center is available for rent seven days a week for business meetings, weddings, receptions, parties, and gatherings. The rental of the Community Center includes the use of the main hall which seats approximately 200, tables and chairs, the use of kitchen area, two large restrooms, a large dance floor/staging area, audio/visual equipment including a projector, sound system, and two large HD televisions.
The kitchen is equipped with two standard refrigerators, two stoves and ovens, and ample counter space.
The sitting room may be added to rentals or rented separately if additional space or a smaller, private space is needed for meetings.

Grand Rivers is one of the only cities in the Lakes area that allows individuals to use golf carts of City roads and streets. Golf Carts must be licensed by the city annually at a fee of $20 per calendar year. To register your cart, bring the following to city hall during business hours. *Carts may only use city streets within the city limits. HWY travel is not permitted.
A 1% Employment withholding tax must be collected on any employee working within the City limits of Grand Rivers, Kentucky. Payroll withholdings are due the last day of the month following quarter end.
A 5% Regulatory License Fee shall be collected on all alcoholic beverages* sold within the city limits of Grand Rivers, KY. Regulatory Fees collected must be remitted by the 15th day of each month proceeding the collection of the fee.
A Restaurant tax of 2% of food and beverage** retail sales by all restaurants, clubs, caterers, or vendors, private or public within the City limits of Grand Rivers, KY. Tax collection is remitted within 30 days following the month collected.
A Lodging Tax of 3% shall be collected on all occupancy of a room, suite, cabin, cottage, or other*** nightly lodging charged by individuals, companies, corporations, or other similar persons. Due within 30 days following the month collected.
* 5% Regulatory License Fee is not collected on soft drinks or other non-alcoholic beverages.
** 2% Restaurant tax is collected on all food and beverage sales, excluding alcoholic beverages subject to Regulatory License Fee.
*** 3% Lodging tax is collected on any overnight accommodation including, but not limited to, Vacation Rental By Owner and Campsites.
Kentucky House Bill 8, passed in 2022, and effective January 1, 2023, requires third-party rental companies such as VRBO, Airb&b, and other booking sites to collect the 3% trainset lodging tax and remit it to the governing city/county. Rentals within the city limits remit tax collected to Grand Rivers City Hall, PO Box 265, 155 West Cumberland Avenue, Grand Rivers, KY 42045, on a monthly basis. It is the sole responsibility of the individual or company renting units to assure that the third-party remits the taxes to the correct office.
Additionally, a “Grand Rivers Lodging Tax Form”, must be provided to City Hall each month, by the owner of the property or by the company, stating the amount of taxes collected and remitted, the month of collection, along with the third-party’s/online rental company’s name and information remitting the taxes. Failure to remit the “Lodging Tax Form” with the required information will result in your property not being credited with tax remittance.
